Cancellation— and introducing the EAU20 Virtual Congress

After careful deliberation and considering all information currently available to us, the Board and Executive of the European Association of Urology have to announce the cancellation of the face-to-face 35th Annual EAU Congress in Amsterdam on 17-21 July 2020. Since public health safety measures in relation to COVID-19 are now extended worldwide, raising many concerns among our community, we feel that a virtual meeting is a safer alternative under the existing circumstances.

The safety of our congress participants and the healthcare community as a whole has our highest priority. We will, however, attempt to give you an update of this year’s developments in urology by setting up a virtual meeting with the highlights of the plenary and thematic sessions, debates and roundtable discussions, educational activities and selected poster presentations.

Your registration
Your registration for EAU20 will be cancelled and the registration fee will be refunded over the course of the coming months. Since it will take some time to refund thousands of participants, we kindly ask you for some patience. More practical information about reimbursement can be found online in these FAQs. Our industry partners will be informed about their participation as soon as possible.

Introducing the EAU20 Virtual Congress
A great number of people have been involved in the organisation of the EAU Congress, which is the annual scientific landmark for the European and global urological community. We are sincerely grateful for the time and effort that so many have invested in this meeting and we will make every effort to publicise accepted scientific work and their important messages in an online event, the EAU20 Virtual Congress.

It will consist of highlights of the existing programme around the time the congress was initially scheduled as well as a series of online educational activities over several weeks. All EAU20 abstracts and surgical videos will soon become available online via the EAU20 Resource Centre. More information on these virtual activities will be provided in the coming months.

Once again, we would like to thank you, not only for your support and commitment to the activities of the EAU but mostly for the great work many of you are doing right now in our mutual battle to fight COVID-19. We hope that by sharing the scientific highlights of EAU20 in this manner, you will be able to explore the latest developments in urological science at your own convenience and keep innovating in care.

We sincerely hope that you will be able to join us during our first virtual Annual Congress, and of course, look forward to welcoming you next year at EAU21 which will be held in Milan on 19-23 March 2021!

AUA2020 Cancelled Due to COVID-19

Like many of you, the AUA has been actively monitoring developments related to the global coronavirus (COVID-19) health crisis. Due to rapidly escalating health concerns, coupled with U.S. President Trump's emergency declaration, the AUA has made the difficult, but necessary decision to cancel the 2020 AUA Annual Meeting in Washington, DC. There is no higher priority to the AUA than the health, safety and well-being of our members, staff, partners, volunteers, guests and the community at large.

We recognize the AUA Annual Meeting is a major global event for the urology community and preparing for it involves the time and talent of a great many of our physician volunteers, speakers and exhibitors. We are incredibly grateful for their time and deeply disappointed not to be able to hold the meeting as planned.

Given the logistics that go into organizing a meeting of this size, the AUA is not able to reschedule the 2020 Annual Meeting; however, in the coming weeks we intend to tap into the innovative spirit of our specialty and share the abstracts, surgical videos and other important clinical education from our meeting as we are able.

The AUA wishes to sincerely thank you for your patience and understanding during this unprecedented situation. Please also allow us time to process full registration fee refunds for the thousands of registrants who registered for the Annual Meeting. Information for exhibitors and sponsors will be forthcoming.

We look forward to seeing you in Las Vegas in 2021.

Dear Urology Professional,

The Taiwan Urological Association (TUA) will organize its 7^th annual International section of Taiwan Urological Association Conference (ISTUA), which is taking place in Taipei, Taiwan on August 22^th, 2020.

TUA welcomes original abstracts from investigators in the urology community. Submission will be accepted from academic institutions, teaching and community hospitals, or industry.

Both TUA members and non-TUA members may participate.

Submitted research may fall into any of the areas below:

Urological oncology
Prostate disease
Functional urology and urodynamics
Pediatric urology
Andrology
Urolithiasis
Endourology and laparoscopy
Epidemiology and others

The deadline for abstract submission is APRIL 30^th, 2020, 11:59 PM Taiwan Time. First authors can expect to be notified of their abstract by mid-May 2020.

Abstracts will be evaluated using a peer review process. Urology research faculty from TUA members will serve as peer reviewers to approve research to display at the Podium or Poster Session.

Presentation guide:

Oral presentation (Podium) – 7 min presentation and 2 min discussion

Mini presentation – 2 min presentation and 2 min discussion, no poster needed

Poster presentation – poster size: 90 cm width and 180 cm length

UPDATE: EAU20 postponed to 17-21 July

We can now announce new dates for the 35th Annual EAU Congress: EAU20 will take place in Amsterdam on Friday, 17 July to Tuesday, 21 July 2020. This will of course have consequences for your registration and your attendance. We are updating the congress website to reflect the new dates and to add additional information. In the meantime, we have prepared a Frequently Asked Questions about the postponement of EAU20 that can help you find answers.
