AUA2020 Cancelled Due to COVID-19

Like many of you, the AUA has been actively monitoring developments related to the global coronavirus (COVID-19) health crisis. Due to rapidly escalating health concerns, coupled with U.S. President Trump's emergency declaration, the AUA has made the difficult, but necessary decision to cancel the 2020 AUA Annual Meeting in Washington, DC. There is no higher priority to the AUA than the health, safety and well-being of our members, staff, partners, volunteers, guests and the community at large.

We recognize the AUA Annual Meeting is a major global event for the urology community and preparing for it involves the time and talent of a great many of our physician volunteers, speakers and exhibitors. We are incredibly grateful for their time and deeply disappointed not to be able to hold the meeting as planned.

Given the logistics that go into organizing a meeting of this size, the AUA is not able to reschedule the 2020 Annual Meeting; however, in the coming weeks we intend to tap into the innovative spirit of our specialty and share the abstracts, surgical videos and other important clinical education from our meeting as we are able.

The AUA wishes to sincerely thank you for your patience and understanding during this unprecedented situation. Please also allow us time to process full registration fee refunds for the thousands of registrants who registered for the Annual Meeting. Information for exhibitors and sponsors will be forthcoming.

We look forward to seeing you in Las Vegas in 2021.

UPDATE: EAU20 postponed to 17-21 July

 

We can now announce new dates for the 35th Annual EAU Congress: EAU20 will take place in Amsterdam on Friday, 17 July to Tuesday, 21 July 2020. This will of course have consequences for your registration and your attendance. We are updating the congress website to reflect the new dates and to add additional information. In the meantime, we have prepared a Frequently Asked Questions about the postponement of EAU20 that can help you find answers.

Dear Urology Professional,

The Taiwan Urological Association (TUA) will organize its 7th annual International section of Taiwan Urological Association Conference (ISTUA), which is taking place in Taipei, Taiwan on August 22th, 2020.

TUA welcomes original abstracts from investigators in the urology community. Submission will be accepted from academic institutions, teaching and community hospitals, or industry.

Both TUA members and non-TUA members may participate.

Submitted research may fall into any of the areas below:

  • Urological oncology
  • Prostate disease
  • Functional urology and urodynamics
  • Pediatric urology
  • Andrology
  • Urolithiasis
  • Endourology and laparoscopy
  • Epidemiology and others

The deadline for abstract submission is APRIL 30th, 2020, 11:59 PM Taiwan Time. First authors can expect to be notified of their abstract by mid-May 2020.

Abstracts will be evaluated using a peer review process. Urology research faculty from TUA members will serve as peer reviewers to approve research to display at the Podium or Poster Session.

Presentation guide:

Oral presentation (Podium) – 7 min presentation and 2 min discussion

徵求聯合研究計畫書撰寫競賽辦法

經民國108年3月30日

第 21屆第 3次理事會議通過

壹、前言: 為了鼓勵全台灣聯合性泌尿科學研究，提升台灣學術研究的實力，鼓勵撰寫高品質的研究計畫書，以利進行優質研究，台灣泌尿科醫學會 (以下簡稱TUA)，特舉辦研究計劃書撰寫競賽，優秀的計劃書將作為全台聯合研究之用。

貳、主辦單位: 台灣泌尿科醫學會TUACRO委員會

參、獎金來源: 由台灣楓城泌尿學會(以下簡稱楓城)每年贊助10萬元新台幣。

肆、競賽獎金與名額:

  1. 優勝的計畫書作品將給予獎助與表揚。
  2. 第一名計畫書乙名，獎助新臺幣5萬元整，與獎狀乙紙。
  3. 第二名計畫書乙名，獎助新臺幣3萬元整，與獎狀乙紙。
  4. 第三名計畫書乙名，獎助新臺幣1萬元整，與獎狀乙紙。
  5. 「參加獎」若干名，每名新臺幣2,000元整，與獎狀乙紙。
  6. 評審單位依據參賽作品之品質，有權決定特定獎項是否從缺。

伍、競賽辦法:

  1. 研究計畫主題限定於泌尿科相關之臨床研究或臨床導向之轉譯醫學議題。
  2. 每一件參賽計畫書可以由多人提出，但是需指派一位擔任主要參賽者，主要參賽者須為TUA會員。如獲獎，由主要參賽者分配獎項。
  3. 非TUA會員者，可以擔任該參賽計畫書之共同提出人。
  4. 研究設計須為多中心研究，若為前瞻性研究 (prospective)、隨機分組 (randomized)、可行性高 (doable) 者，得分較高。由評審單位決定之。
  5. 計畫書以中文撰寫，須盡量詳細，注意前後一致，並提供電子檔。撰寫格式不定，但是至少須包括以下段落:
    1. 中文摘要
    2. 研究目標
    3. 研究構想及緣起 (如有初步之結果更佳)
    4. 研究設計: 例如: 研究病人群、納入排除標準、如何隨機分組、研究終點 (endpoints)、stratification等
    5. 統計方法: 包括樣本大小之計算 (註: 統計方面可以諮詢TUACRO之統計專家)。
    6. 研究時程規劃 (收案速度、追蹤時間、計畫估計總時間多久等)
    7. 經費與人力需求
    8. 附件:
      1. IRB申請書樣本
      2. 受試者同意書範本
      3. Case Report Form (個案報告表或個案資料收錄EXCEL表單)
      4. 參考文獻。
  6. 計畫修改:
    1. 對於較佳但是未臻理想之參賽作品，評審單位得透過各學術性委員會，與參賽者進行溝通討論，給予建議，鼓勵其修改參賽計畫書作品，使計劃書更臻完美，以便實際付諸各委員會執行。
    2. 拒絕依TUA建議修改之參賽者，無法繼續參賽，但是得專屬授權計劃書給TUA，由TUACRO委託學術性委員會繼續修改，原作者可獲得「參加獎」。
  7. 參賽計劃書之主要參賽者，不必然是未來研究計畫之主持人 (Principal investigator)，或是研究產出之第一或通訊作者，但是至少應該列入共同作者。作者排名分配 (authorship) 仍是遵循TUACRO之authorship guideline。
  8. 不得用已經獲補助或獎勵之計畫書參賽。
  9. 108年收件時間延長至10月31日，超過時限投稿者，參賽計劃書仍可提交投稿，將併入明年競賽。108年11月底，將對修改後的計畫書，進行總評審，決定名次。各學術性委員會已經進行中的計畫書，也可以參加競賽。

陸、評審及評分:

  1. TUACRO為執行本計畫之單位，也是參選計畫書之評審單位之一。另一方評審單位為楓城。
  2. TUACRO之每一位委員都有等值之投票權及權重。
  3. 總評審的分數中，權重分配由TUACRO負責80%，楓城佔20%。
  4. 評審成績必須於6月30日之前，完成評審工作，並且對外公布。
  5. 楓城之評審成績必須於6月25日之前，完成評審工作，將評審成績交付TUA。若TUA延遲交付參選計畫書供楓城評審，楓城將於TUA交付計畫書後之2周內，完成評審，並將成績交付TUA。(若延長截稿期限，審稿時間另行規定)
  6. 計劃書提案將以匿名方式，提供給審查委員審查。
  7. 競賽參加者需同意計畫書可供公開陳列。
  8. 研究計劃書之著作權屬於參賽者，如果入選得獎，則須非專屬授權給TUACRO，未來將提供TUACRO進行研究之用，作者將有權參與各委員會之該計畫執行及學術成果分享。
  9. 評分標準 (請給予每個項目100分的滿分)
    1. 創意、重要性與新穎性 (30%)
    2. 研究背景與假說合理性 (20%)
    3. 是否前瞻性研究? (5%) (若非前瞻性研究，得0分)
    4. 隨機分組之適當性? (5%) (若非隨機分組研究，得0分)
    5. 是否可行 (Feasibility)? (20%)
    6. IRB申請書樣本之品質? (5%)
    7. 受試者同意書樣本之品質? (10%)
    8. 個案報告表樣本之品質 (5%)

柒、本辦法經TUACRO委員會及TUA理事會通過後施行。修改時亦同。
